Main Goal
To involve as many citizens as possible (accentuated attention on youth) in active nature conservation in Romania .
Objectives
- to develop national network of schools and universities in order to provide volunteers in nature conservation;
- funding a “birding school”, which would offer education possibilities for the children of all ages in classroom and field;
- to implement education material for optional nature conservation lessons in schools.
Results
- through education in schools a significant increase of membership took place (from 60 to 420) and all these members are regularly provided with published material;
- we developed educational material for several presentation types about importance of different habitats, different bird groups, fieldwork methods in bird protection, etc.;
- several ornithological school-groups co-ordinated by our organization were fund and there are some in course of development;
- in the last two years we carried out more then 120 slide shows, field activities and other events for children;
- we closed cooperation partnerships with several schools and kindergartens from Mures county.
