[singlepic id=481 w=250 h=200 float=left]Between 21 and 22 February the employees of the Milvus Group involved in the Life project called “Conservation of Falco cherrug in Northeast Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia” have taken part to a training meeting in Hungary. The event was organized at the Bükk National Park’s (Bükki Nemzeti Park) Visiting Centre in Felsőtárkány and the participants were people from the four countries included in the project. From our country two organizations were represented, the Milvus Group and the Romanian Ornithological Society.[:] În cele două zile s-au ținut prezentări prin care specialiștii din Ungaria și Slovacia au transmis o parte din cunoștințele și din experiențele acumulate în proiectul anterior – “Conservation of Saker (Falco cherrug) in the Carpathian Basin (LIFE06 NAT/HU/000096)” noilor țări implicate în conservarea șoimului dunărean: Bulgaria și România. În cea de-a doua zi a fost organizată și o ieșire pe teren pentru a vizita cuiburile artificiale instalate și liniile de medie tensiune izolate cu ajutorul companiilor de electricitate maghiare. Nu au lipsit, bineînțeles, nici păsările aflate deja în preajma cuiburilor. [singlepic id=480 w=250 h=200 float=left]Proiectul va dura 4 ani și va include diverse activități menite să contribuie la asigurarea statutului favorabil de conservare al acestei specii de pasăre răpitoare în centrul și estul continentului. Vom reveni cu informații detaliate privind obiectivele și rezultatele proiectului, urmând să fie realizat și un site web în acest scop. In these two days, the specialists from Hungary and Slovakia have presented some aspects of their knowledge and experiences to the new countries included in the Saker Falcon’s conservation efforts, Bulgaria and Romania, gained through the previous project on this issue: “Conservation of Saker (Falco cherrug) in the Carpathian Basin (LIFE06 NAT/HU/000096)”. In the 2^nd day the participants have joined to a short field trip to some artificial nests and isolated medium-voltage powerlines, mounted with the support of Hungarian electric suppliers. We didn’t miss the birds as well as some of them were already present in the nesting areas. [singlepic id=480 w=250 h=200 float=left]The project which last four year will include different actions meant to contribute to the assurance of the favourable conservation status of this raptor species in Central and Eastern Europe.
