The Chituc Ringing Camp continues in 2015
In 2014, the “Milvus Group” Bird and Nature Protection Association organized a ringing camp on the Chituc Sandbank, during which 12877 birds, belonging to 100 species were captured and marked. We wish to continue the ringing in this year also, and we are counting once again on the help of enthusiast ringers and volunteers. (more…)




The birds tagged with satellite transmitters in Hungary, Italy, Kazakhstan, and Romania spent the winter in Angola, Namibia, Botswana and Zambia. At some points all of the tagged seven birds stayed in a 200-kiometre-diameter circle in Botswana, and then they spread out to an area of about 1.000.000 square kilometers (approximately four times larger territory than Romania).
