“Milvus Group” Bird and Nature Protection Association calls for your action!
The European Commission considers reviewing the most important laws regarding environmental protection: the Birds Directive and Habitats Directive, which stand at the foundation of the Natura 2000 network, the largest and most comprehensive natural network in Europe.
It’s time to act together and support the NATURE ALERT movement!
Citizens of the 28 European Union member states, including Romania, are invited to participate in the public consultation initiated by the European Commission regarding the need of rethinking the Birds and Habitat Directives. The largest environmental non-governmental structures in Europe and their affiliates including “Milvus Group”, launched an online petition entitled NATURE ALERT, by which the signatories express their solidarity on the point of view of environmental protection non-governmental structures. The text of the petition contains the answers that we consider best regarding the questions of the European Commission, and we invite you to sign the petition if our vision about the future of nature protection coincides with yours!
If the Commission will undermine the Directives, Romania will have the most to lose, as 23 % of the country is protected by 531 Natura 2000 sites (virgin forests, gorges, rivers and natural grasslands). Our country ranks first in Europe in terms of biodiversity and it’s home to many of the last entirely natural ecosystems on the continent. It’s time to protect our natural values!
Don`t be indifferent! Please sign the NATURE ALERT petition!
