Monitoring soaring bird (raptors, storks, pelicans) migration has always been one of the flagship activities of Milvus Group. Using an extensive data set collected between 2002-2007 and 2010 – 2011 from Dobrogea, we now bring scientific evidence that Dobrogea (region in southeastern Romania) is a major migration corridor for large-sized soaring birds during the autumn migration season. In our latest article published in ARDEA, the official scientific journal of the Netherlands Ornithologists’ Union since 1912, we provide the most comprehensive overview to date of the autumn passage of soaring birds over Dobrogea, describing species composition, species-specific migration intensity and phenology, and the main geographical routes of migrating soaring birds over the area.
