A couple of days ago we were able to give back the freedom of 10 white storks. The storks – 2 adults and 8 young – arrived to the Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre from different parts of the country, some with broken wings and some with beak injuries. After a full recovery, they were able to experience the taste of freedom again, joining their fellow migrants.
But not all the storks which are in our care were as lucky. Several of the chicks are still recovering and will not be able to fly again until March next year. Until then, they will remain in our aviaries at our Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre.
Those that are still with us need your support. We do not receive any government or EU funding for our rehabilitation centre, which is supported by conscientious donors. Unfortunately this sum only covers a small part of our costs, so please support our work to help more of our lovely birds get the care they need.
