We are delighted to share that this year, for the very first time, we organised a week-long series of nature conservation activities in partnership with the Târgu Mureș Zoo.
Thirty primary school children took part in the programme, spending five days discovering the rich diversity of nature and the animal kingdom through fun, hands-on activities.
The first day was all about getting to know one another—and also meeting a young ostrich that had hatched in an incubator. The children were thrilled to take the chick for walks, stepping in for its ostrich mother.

On the second day, plants took centre stage. An early morning walk through the misty forest created a magical atmosphere as the children learned about a wide variety of plant species. The learning continued at the zoo with interactive games and educational activities.

The third day focused on the forest’s smallest inhabitants. The children built shelters for woodland creatures and visited the zoo’s newly opened museum, where they explored, among other things, the fascinating world of insects.

By the fourth day, the group had become a close-knit team. The children learned about the vital ecological role of vultures before making their own house martin nests from clay.

On the final day of the programme, we carried out experiments, learned about the importance of water and environmental protection, and brought the week to a close with a group walk joined by the children’s parents.

A heartfelt thank you to all the children who took part, to their parents, and to our partner, the Târgu Mureș Zoo, for making this week such a memorable experience filled with discovery, learning, and shared adventures.
