Kupán Gizella, an avid spectator of a monitored Saker Falcon nest, observed an immature male Lesser Kestrel (Falco naumanni) on the camera on the 18th of July, staying for several hours near the nest. The artificial nest box was installed by Milvus Group Association and ENEL electricity company in 2012 as part of the project entitled “Conservation of Falco cherrug in NE Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia” (http://sakerlife2.mme.hu/en), and the live streaming is provided by the Wildlife Romania Association (https://wildliferomania.com/live/soimul-dunarean/). Thus, nature enthusiasts can follow the nesting of raptor species every year. The Lesser Kester is one of the most scarcely observed raptors in Romania, with less than 5 observations in the country in the last 15 years. The species breeds in the Mediterranean area of Europe and Central Asia.
