If you enjoy documentary films and appreciate the work of nature photographers, you should not miss Lynx Festival, taking place in Brașov from 1 to 7 June.
The festival is organised by the România Sălbatică and Forona associations and offers six days of film screenings, exhibitions, workshops and other activities — all dedicated to nature.
On the first day of the festival, we are welcoming children aged 8 and over to a special activity. We are organising an educational and interactive workshop exploring the fascinating ways animals navigate and survive without maps, compasses or GPS, relying instead on instincts, senses and clues from nature. The workshop aims to encourage scientific curiosity, critical thinking, understanding of navigation mechanisms and sensory awareness. Children will learn through play and experiments involving sight, hearing, smell and touch.

On June 2, following the festival’s opening gala, audiences will be able to watch the documentary “The American Southwest”, which takes viewers on a fascinating journey along the Colorado River through spectacular landscapes that reveal a natural world in fragile balance.
On June 3, two remarkable documentaries await visitors: “Leopard Legacy”, telling the emotional story of a family of big cats living in the wilderness of Zambia, and “My Otter Diary”, a personal story in which a filmmaker discovers the life of an otter family and becomes deeply attached to their story.
On June 4, the film “Katavi” will be screened, presenting a spectacular region of Africa, followed by “Gladice”, which takes viewers on a fascinating journey through the Arctic, a region heavily affected by climate change.
On June 5, the workshop “Teacher 2.0: A Catalyst for Nature Protection” will take place, offering teachers creative and easy-to-apply activities that combine digital education with nature conservation. The programme will continue with two documentaries: “The Birds”, directed by Martin Dohrn, and “Wild Danube Delta”, highlighting the importance of wetlands.
We are also eagerly looking forward to June 6, when the Lynx Festival Gala will take place at 6 PM, including the announcement of the winners of this year’s Milvus International Nature Photography Contest.
On the final day of the festival, audiences will have the opportunity to enjoy more fascinating documentaries, including “Ocean” with David Attenborough.
