540 children, 27 classes, 10 schools – this is the summary of two weeks of Green Week, in terms of the environmental education activities carried out by our colleagues.
We did our best to honour every request from schools and kindergartens and to deliver sessions where children could learn about nature in a fun and memorable way.
With some groups, we became nature detectives and searched for animal tracks. With others, we talked about bird migration – the long and challenging journeys of migratory species, as well as the next stage in their lives: nesting.

Our Injured Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre welcomed many children who discovered the steps wild animals go through once they arrive in our care. After sharpening their senses with some fun and educational games in centre’s courtyard, they had the chance to visit our recovering patients.

Green Week activities are ongoing, as each school decides individually which week to schedule their Green Week.
