Green Week is the perfect opportunity for students to get acquainted with the surrounding nature, learn about the environmental challenges we face, and explore solutions to these problems. For us, it is a chance to reach even more students and share our passion for animals and beyond. In order to respond to all the requests and assure that the activities are successful, every colleagues gets involved in some way: some ring birds, others collect materials from nature to be used for educational purposes.
Each school can decide which week their students will spend five days learning about climate, sustainability, and environmental protection. For example, during the week of October 21–25, we visited nine educational institutions, including kindergartens, primary schools, and high schools in Târgu Mureș, Nazna, and Voivodeni, and met with nearly 370 children and young people. During this week, we organized 18 activities, some in classrooms, others outdoors, or even at the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center.
We will also conclude 2024 with a Green Week, as in the week leading up to Christmas, we plan to visit 5 educational institutions, where we will talk about birds’ lives and how to feed them during the winter.
