“We protect only what we love, we love only what we know, and we know only what we are taught.” – Baba Dioum, Senegalese forester
Since our foundation over three decades ago, we have considered it extremely important to reach out to younger generations and pass on our love for nature.
Everything we do has an impact on the environment. If young people understand how precious nature is, the consequences of their daily decisions, and how easy it is to either harm or protect the environment with simple actions, then we can hope for generations who will live in harmony with nature.
This is the mission of environmental education, and it brings us great joy to meet, year after year, an increasing number of preschool and school-aged children.
We have finalised our educational programme for the 2025–2026 school year, which includes a variety of activities focusing on especially important topics.
Through our programmes, children do not just learn about nature and its protection, they actively engage: they explore, investigate, and marvel at the world around them. Our aim is for them to learn to appreciate natural treasures, understand the importance of biodiversity conservation, and acquire practical knowledge through which they can actively contribute to protecting their environment.
Naturally, activities are tailored to the age group and knowledge level of the class.
Our educational offer includes:
- Regular activities: during the school year, we hold five activities, which can take place in the schoolyard or classroom. These sessions introduce students to the secrets of nature in an educational, yet fun way.
- Occasional activities: single-session meetings with students, with the topic chosen in consultation with the teacher beforehand.
- “Green Week” package: as part of the Green Week, organized by each school, students participate in varied, interactive activities exploring biodiversity and ecological themes.
- Excursions: we organise trips in Târgu Mureș and the surrounding area, where students might, for example, observe bird ringing techniques. This provides an excellent opportunity for hands-on experience and exploration of the bird world.
- Camps: in our overnight and day camps, children explore the beauty and diversity of wildlife. The programme offers hiking, nature-based games, creative activities, simple experiments, and teamwork. This allows children to actively participate in learning while developing curiosity, creativity, and collaboration skills.
