We organised a ringing event in the Natura 2000 protected area of Liteni-Săvădisla grasslands near Cluj-Napoca on 8 September. In addition to the local breeding birds, autumn migrants can be found in the nets set up in the bushes between the two forest patches.   

This was indeed the case, with exactly half of the ringed species (12) being migrants. The 23 participants had the opportunity to observe the ringing process for each bird: fitting the ring, determining age and sex, taking measurements. 

After this the captured birds could continue their journey. Our bird awareness events are supported by Betfair Romania Development.
