Spring is all about storks. At least at the Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre, March is the month when the storks that have wintered with us return to their natural environment.

6 storks spent the snowy in the aviaries in Sânsimion, Mureș county. They all came into our care after being found last autumn in poor physical condition, too weak to make the long journey to Africa or even to find food to survive the Romanian winter.

After spending several months with us and regaining their strength, for three of them, two who arrived in the autumn from Odorheiu Secuiesc and one from Satu-Mare, the time has come for their release.

On a beautiful spring day, at the edge of the forest near our centre, the three storks took flight.
