On the 16th March, 2023 a team of 4 Hungarian researchers and 4 film-makers departed to Africa to visit the largest Red-footed Falcon roost site on Earth. Their goal was – besides several scientific activities – to show the world through a 360° short movie and in a photo-report commissioned by National Geographic how nearly a million Red-footed Falcons roost together in Huambo, Angola before their spring migration.
The site was discovered in 2019 by the same Hungarian scientists with the help of Red-footed Falcons previously satellite-tagged on the breeding sites, and then following the birds’ several thousands km long journey through the data from the transmitters.
