The story of Yellow

This is the story of Yellow, an Eurasian sparrowhawk chick, Diana, a social worker, and Ana, Milvus Groups’ volunteer. But let’s take the characters in this story one by one.

Diana saw an injured chick fall from its nest after a heavy storm near Suncuius, Bihor County. “I took Yellow into custody to look after him (I fed him with tweezers) and with the help of a friend I got in touch with Ana. The next day I took him to Oradea where I handed him over to Ana for specialized care. It was my first experience of this kind and I can say that it was amazing. “ – said Diana.

Ana, a Milvus Group volunteer, who already has many such cases under her belt, took care of the chick and after two weeks of treatment with antibiotics, anti-inflammatory and treatment for its injury on the legs, and of course lots and lots of care and love, Yellow was ready to return to the “family” nest.

Thanks to Ana and Diana, and all those who help the work of our Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre.

Yellow’s whole adventure has been documented with photos and videos by Ana, so that we too can marvel at the recovery of an eurasian sparrowhawk chick, which is rare for this species.
