Last observations at the feeder

Spring will arrive soon, and with it, nature will come back to life. Birds are finding easyer food sources, so the time is approaching when they will no longer need feeding. These are, therefore, the last days when we can still observe which species visit our feeder. It’s worth making the most of this period, as we can still easily watch our winter visitors and enjoy the diversity of birds.

Recently, we have done just that. A group of young schoolchildren observed, with great attention, which species visited the feeder placed in the courtyard of our headquarters. As part of a bird-ringing activity, the 27 curious children had the chance to admire one of the regular visitors to the feeders up close: the Long-tailed tit. On this small, but extremely agile bird with a white head and long tail, our colleagues demonstrated the ringing process.
