On a frosty morning, when it seemed as if the sky had sprinkled the trees with powdered sugar, we hurried to Sovata. This is where we waited for the children from Aluniș Middle School for their Green Week activity.

Lacul Ursu (Bear Lake) in Sovata, the venue of our meeting, is one of the most beautiful natural treasures of Mureș County. Beyond the legends, it is also remarkable from a scientific perspective, being the largest heliothermal salt lake in Europe.

After a short presentation of the lake, we set off along the educational trail surrounding the lake. By then, the sun’s rays were filtering through the deciduous trees glowing in autumn colors.

The purpose of the activity was to awaken our senses, relax in nature, and gain experiences that help us explore the world not only with our sight but with all our senses.

The program included rhythm games, identifying fruits and seeds by touch, craft activities collecting the colors of autumn, and a special blindfolded walk, during which the students discovered nature through their other senses.

Our excursion concluded with a session of forest bathing, which refreshes not only the body but also the soul, helping to escape the rush of everyday life.
