Three years have passed since we took part in Swimathon, a fundraising event in which swimmers take part in a relay in the pool to support community projects. We had an enthusiastic team made up of five nature lovers (Gáspár András, Vári Tamás, Kelemen Márton, Hajdu László Hunor and Fangli Mátyás), who got into the pool and swam for our project „A city more friendly to nature”. We also had an ambassador (Simona Boanta, TVR journalist) who supported us and believed in the importance of our project.
But we also had you by our side, those who supported the project financially and thanks to whom the information board about the importance of old trees was created and installed in the courtyard of the Medieval Fortress in Târgu Mureș.
This first board was only the beginning. There is still so much to share about urban nature, so we want to install another board. This time, our project is called „Nature in the city, our shared responsibility”. You can read more details about the project here.
The first step was to form the swimming team and find ambassadors who support our cause. At the Swimathon event on 6 June, the following will swim for us:
- Kálmán Melinda
- Kelemen A. Márton
- Szőke Botond
- Kakassy Konrád
They are not professional swimmers or competitive athletes, but people who believe in what we are trying to achieve and who are willing to dedicate their time and effort so that another information board can be installed in Târgu Mureș, one that provides useful information about urban nature and may help us become more aware of the living creatures around us and more appreciative of the environment.
Three ambassadors have also joined the team. They are:
- Simona Boanta
- Incze Gáspár
- Papp Judith
We are grateful to everyone who chose to be part of our team and we appreciate each and every one of them.
Who is still missing from the team? YOU are. We hope you will join us, because this board is for you and your family. If you want to support this project, all you need to do is complete the donation form and perhaps tell your friends about what we are trying to do.
