It seems that this winter we can expect a new wave of invasion of Waxwings (Bombycilla garrulus) also in Romania.
As in the winter 2004-2005, Milvus Group decided to collect all the possible data of the species again, in order to evaluate this influx’s magnitude and spatial distribution in Romania.
We apply for all who have any Waxwing data from the 2012-2013′s winter period, we ask them to send these data to the following e-mail address szilárd.daroczi@milvus.ro with the subject “bombycilla”.
We will collect these data up to 1st May 2013. Please provide the following information about the observations: date, locality name (or GPS location), county, number of observed birds and the observer(s) name. After data analysis and processing we will inform all the observers about the results of the survey!

02;03- 04-2013 Ploiesti langa blocul meu intr-un paducel (giorginar) un stol circa 50 exemplare s-a hranit cu frenezie din acest copac pana au epuizat fructele ,apoi au disparut.
In data de 28.03.2013 am observat un stol de circa 20 matasari cautand hrana la sol in centrul orasului Bistrita, in apropierea garii.
astazi 31.03.2013 am vazut un stol de aproximativ 50 de matasari in zona satului Renghet apartinand de orasul Geoagiu
Prejmer , Brasov, aproximativ 20 de exemplare in parcul din centrul localitatii , data 26.03 2013
Lajosnál a kertben ma 500 de-és a városban szinte mindenütt lehet látni őket,

Pe data de 19_12_2012 am observat pe un deal la Campina 42 matasari, i-am si fotografiat.
