„Animals are an important part of nature, and it is our responsibility to protect and preserve them,” said renowned naturalist David Attenborough.

On International Animal Day, that is exactly what we did: we learnt how to help animals during the colder months. The event took place on Sunday and was organised jointly by Târgu Mureș Zoo and the Milvus Group.

At the Milvus workshop, participants discovered how artificial nest boxes can help birds and other animals, learnt what migration really means, and found out which bird species stay here for the winter.

This was followed by a guided tour led by zoo specialists, during which visitors learnt more about a variety of animal species and watched the animals being fed in public.

On 4 October, we celebrate not only wild animals, but also the animal keepers who dedicate their time and energy to caring for them every single day.
