This was exactly the case for two birds. Our colleague, Attila, was near <strong>Salonta (Bihor County)<\/strong>, accompanying a team from Oradea who were filming a report on the local Great bustard habitat. During the walk, he noticed a <strong>Rough-legged buzzard<\/strong> showing clear signs of poisoning. Just a few metres away, a <strong>Common buzzard<\/strong> was lying with similar symptoms.<\/span><\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video controls=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/milvus.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Untitled-design-14.mp4\"><\/video><\/figure><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our colleague immediately took the birds to the <strong>MatVet Veterinary Clinic in Salonta<\/strong>, where they received urgent care. The swift intervention saved their lives, as many poisoned birds sadly do not survive before receiving help.<\/span><\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/milvus.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/IMG_20260210_120154-scaled.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/milvus.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/IMG_20260210_120154-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-50776\" srcset=\"https:\/\/milvus.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/IMG_20260210_120154-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/milvus.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/IMG_20260210_120154-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/milvus.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/IMG_20260210_120154-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/milvus.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/IMG_20260210_120154-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/milvus.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/IMG_20260210_120154-2048x1152.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/milvus.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/IMG_20260210_120154-800x450.jpg 800w, https:\/\/milvus.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/IMG_20260210_120154-600x338.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once their condition was stabilised, the birds were taken to Oradea by the film crew, to <strong>our volunteer Ana<\/strong>, who has been caring for injured birds for many years.<\/span>&#13;\n&#13;\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fortunately, within a few days, they had recovered enough to be safely released back into the wild.<\/span><\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video controls=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/milvus.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Untitled-design-11.mp4\"><\/video><\/figure><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We are deeply grateful to <strong>MatVet Veterinary Clinic<\/strong> for their quick and effective intervention, to <strong>dr. Borka Levente, <\/strong>to <strong>Nikolett and D\u00e1niel<\/strong> for safely transporting the birds to Oradea, and to our volunteer <strong>Ana<\/strong> for her tireless care.
