This spring<\/strong> we set out on a guided walk<\/strong> with families to observe the birds we live alongside but often overlook. In summer<\/strong> we continued exploring nature on a trip<\/strong> where we took part in bird-ringing \u2013 a method that offered us the rare opportunity to observe birds up close. Recently, the third activity<\/strong> within the project \u201cFamily Days in Nature with the Milvus Group\u201d<\/strong> also took place.<\/span><\/p>

Our Winter Workshop: Feeding the Birds<\/strong> focused on how to properly feed birds during the cold season<\/strong>. The first step is knowing <\/span>when<\/span> to feed them, <\/span>what<\/span> to offer, <\/span>what<\/span> a good feeder should look like, and <\/span>where<\/span> to place it so that the birds are safe and we can enjoy their presence.<\/span><\/p>

These questions were answered by biologist Andrea Szabadi<\/strong>, who explained the correct way to feed birds<\/strong>. After learning the essentials, we also met the visitors of our feeders during a bird-ringing demonstration<\/strong> led by Tam\u00e1s Papp<\/strong>, ringer and executive director of our organisation.<\/span><\/p>

Once we learned how and which species to feed, we rolled up our sleeves \u2014 parents and children alike \u2014 and got to work. We created four types of bird feeders<\/strong>, which will surely attract many birds close to us.<\/span><\/p>
