When we hear the word \u201cadoption\u201d<\/strong>, we usually think of a child who\u2019s been lovingly welcomed into a new family.<\/span> \n<\/span>But adoption isn\u2019t something reserved only for humans \u2014 it exists in the animal world too.<\/span><\/p>

We\u2019re talking about three Common kestrel chicks<\/strong> that arrived in the care of Ana, our volunteer in Oradea, who fed and looked after them for several days.<\/span><\/p>

Our colleague, L\u0151rinc, walked through the kestrel colony in Mihai Bravu<\/strong>, looking for nests that already had chicks of similar age and size \u2014 to increase the chances of the newcomers being accepted by foster parents.<\/span><\/p>

And it worked: the little ones are now enjoying the company of their \u201cstep-siblings\u201d as they learn the ways of independent life. \n<\/p>
