This year, once again, we were granted a glimpse into the world\u2019s natural beauty through breathtaking photographs. <\/p>

he 16th Milvus International Nature Photography Contest<\/a><\/strong> sparked greater interest than ever before, receiving a record number of 2 333 entries from 31 countries<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>

Over the weekend, the most outstanding works were awarded during the gala of the Lynx Festival<\/a> <\/strong>in Bra\u0219ov.<\/span><\/p>

In the Nature category<\/strong>, a drone photograph taken in Iceland by L\u00e1szl\u00f3 Sim\u00e1n<\/strong> won the jury\u2019s approval. The Hungarian photographer began taking pictures using a drone ten years ago and shared that he felt incredibly lucky that his work was chosen amongst so many outstanding entries.<\/span><\/p>

The winner in the Nature of Romania category<\/strong> was Raul Bambu<\/strong>, who captured his award-winning image in December 2022 in the C\u0103p\u0103\u021b\u00e2nii Mountains.<\/span><\/p>

In the Wildlife category<\/strong>, Shengfu Jiao from China<\/strong> took the top spot. He sent a video message to thank the jury for the recognition he received for his photograph of a yak walking across the Tibetan Plateau.<\/span><\/p>

Similarly, Marina Gavrikova (Russia)<\/strong>, the winner of the Junior category<\/strong>, shared a video message and talked about how she managed to capture her winning photo.<\/span><\/p>

The audience favourite entry<\/strong> was taken by Ferenc-Alp\u00e1r Goth\u00e1rd<\/strong>, <\/span>who was selected for exhibition for the second time with a photo depicting a lynx.<\/span><\/p>

The most anticipated moment of the awards ceremony was the announcement of the Grand Prize winner<\/strong>. For the first time in the contest\u2019s history, the same photographer took home the grand prize two years in a row<\/strong>. The winner, Ervin Horesny\u00edk (Slovakia)<\/strong>, spoke emotionally about how surprised he was by the win, as he had hesitated a lot about entering and thought it unlikely that, following last year\u2019s success, he would have another chance.<\/span><\/p>

“I went out to photograph chamois, but that day I didn\u2019t see a single animal. Just as I was heading home, I caught sight of a capercaillie. (\u2026) It was only back home, in front of the screen, that I noticed the shape of the clouds in the background and that\u2019s when I realised it turned out to be a good photo.\u201d<\/em> – Ervin told us. He excitedly accepted the handcrafted wooden plaque from world-renowned cameraman Gavin Thurston<\/strong>, recipient of five Emmy Awards and two BAFTAs.<\/span><\/p>

Congratulations to all the participants for their amazing creations, and to the organisers of the Lynx Festival, \u00a0Rom\u00e2nia S\u0103lbatic\u0103\u00a0<\/a>\u0219i\u00a0Forona<\/a> associations\u00a0for yet another great event.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>
