The church tower is a favourite breeding place for the Barn owl<\/strong>. It is in these dark spaces that this owl lays its eggs and raises its young. In many places they have been driven out of church buildings, but in the Reformed Church of Che\u0219ereu (Bihor County) they have done the opposite.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

In 2016<\/strong>, Pastor K\u00e1lm\u00e1n Oroszi<\/strong> asked us to put a nesting box<\/strong> specially conceived for this species in the church steeple. We did that and in 2020<\/strong> we were called to ring the 6 chicks that were in this nesting box<\/strong>.<\/span> \n \nThis year, at the pastor’s request, we visited the site again and surrounded by locals we ringed, yet again, 6 little barn owls, which were enjoying the conditions offered by our nesting box.<\/span><\/p>
