{"id":41603,"date":"2024-03-21T13:12:09","date_gmt":"2024-03-21T11:12:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/milvus.ro\/great-bustard-inventory-in-the-pannonian-region\/"},"modified":"2024-03-21T13:18:44","modified_gmt":"2024-03-21T11:18:44","slug":"great-bustard-inventory-in-the-pannonian-region","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/milvus.ro\/en\/great-bustard-inventory-in-the-pannonian-region\/","title":{"rendered":"Great Bustard inventory in the Pannonian Region"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The fourth <strong>synchronous winter count of the Great Bustard in Central Europe<\/strong> took place between 13-14 January 2024. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Austrian organizers, in cooperation with national coordinators from 7 European countries (Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Romania, Serbia and Slovakia), carried out a population census of Great Bustards in the Pannonian region.<\/span><\/p><p>The first coordinated survey of this kind took place in 2017, when 1.751 individuals were recorded. This was followed by a longer break and the census became annual from 2021.&#13;\n<\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fortunately, the 2024 data show a <strong>slight increase<\/strong>. Our colleagues saw a group of 73  individuals at the time of the count.
