Sz. during the wintering birds of prey monitoring program near Chișineu-Criș (Arad County). The observation of the species is considered to be of great interest, because the Desert Wheatear does not breed in Europe and it rarely occurs on our continent. They main distribution is on dry steppes, deserts, or barren pastures with rocky areas of Asia and North Africa. The previous data refers to a long staying bird (end of November 2017 until the end of February 2018) near Techirghiol.

Desert Wheatear (Oenanthe deserti)

This is the second confirmed record of the species in Romania, a male observed on 10th December, by Daróczi J.
