{"id":15437,"date":"2015-03-16T20:46:48","date_gmt":"2015-03-16T18:46:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost\/2015\/03\/16\/artificial-nestboxes-for-falcons-and-kestrels-mounted-on-pylons\/"},"modified":"2022-07-27T15:07:05","modified_gmt":"2022-07-27T12:07:05","slug":"artificial-nestboxes-for-falcons-and-kestrels-mounted-on-pylons","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/milvus.ro\/en\/artificial-nestboxes-for-falcons-and-kestrels-mounted-on-pylons\/","title":{"rendered":"Artificial nestboxes for falcons and kestrels mounted on pylons"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the autumn of 2014 the National Electric Energy Transport Company (Transelectrica) requested from the Dealurile T\u00e2rnavelor-Valea Nirajului Natura 2000&nbsp;administration an approval for the maintenance of 220 kv electric lines between F\u00e2nt\u00e2nele &#8211; Ungheni (Mure\u0219 county).<\/p><p>The administration gave permission for the maintenance work and in the meantime they asked to mount artificial nestboxes on pylons.<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-gallery alignwide has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-id=\"7388\" src=\"https:\/\/milvus.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/lada-oszlopon-1.jpg\" alt=\"lada oszlopon 1\" class=\"wp-image-7388\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/milvus.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/lada-oszlopon-2-e1426660229880.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1038\" height=\"1205\" data-id=\"25911\" src=\"https:\/\/milvus.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/lada-oszlopon-2-e1426660229880.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-25911\" srcset=\"https:\/\/milvus.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/lada-oszlopon-2-e1426660229880.jpg 1038w, https:\/\/milvus.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/lada-oszlopon-2-e1426660229880-600x697.jpg 600w, https:\/\/milvus.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/lada-oszlopon-2-e1426660229880-258x300.jpg 258w, https:\/\/milvus.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/lada-oszlopon-2-e1426660229880-882x1024.jpg 882w, https:\/\/milvus.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/lada-oszlopon-2-e1426660229880-768x892.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1038px) 100vw, 1038px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/figure><p>\u201cMilvus Group\u201d Association gave 15 artificial nestboxes, which were mounted on pylons chosen previously to cover the adequate areas for the targeted species, the Common Kestrel (<em>Falco tinnunculus<\/em>) and Hobby (<em>Falco subbuteo<\/em>).<\/p><p>These artificial nests are very efficient especially in those areas where there are few trees and there\u2019s mostly agricultural land, offering nesting places for decades.<\/p><p>In February 2015 members of \u201cMilvus Group\u201d Association, partners of Dealurile T\u00e2rnavelor-Valea Nirajului Natura 2000 Natura 2000 administration, checked a part of the artificial nestboxes and they observed that many of them there was already occupied by Common Kestrels. We believe that in 1 or 2 years all these nests will be occupied by hobby or kestrels.<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a
