Common Bird Census meeting at Cluj-Napoca

On 8th December 2007 was held the first annual meeting of the monitoring team of the Romanian Common Bird Census project organized at the Babeș-Bolyai University, Cluj Napoca – Faculty of Biology and Geology by the Romanian Ornithological Society (ROS). About 50 participants has taken part on the meeting, most of them project volunteers and students. The meeting’s program included presentations about the results of the census activities as well as about different other activities and projects undertaken by Romanian ornithologists. Out of nine power point presentations held, four were prepared by the members of the Milvus Group and they were the following: Results of the Macin Mountain raptor migration census 2002-2007, Status of the Golden Eagle and the Peregrine Falcon in Romania, Status of the Red-footed Falcon in the Western Lowlands and The Saker Falcon (Falco c. cherrug) in Dobrudja. At the end of the meeting took place the raffle of some presents for the project participants, who sent observation data during 2006 and 2007.
