Black Grouse breeding

Betwen 4th and 14th of June 2006 four members of the “Milvus Group” Association, together with two colleagues from Czech Republic and respectively one from Poland carried out studies on birds in purpose of designating Natura 2000 sites in Maramures, Bistrita and Suceava counties. During this research we collected up to date prooves about the breeding of the Black Grouse (Tetrao tetrix) in the Maramures and Rodnei Mountains. From the first days we discovered indicators (droppings, holes digged in snow) which prooves the presence of the species in the area, after that Vermouzek Z. (Czech Rep.) than two of our members observed a displaying male.
