Main goal
To monitor and improve the implementation of existing relevant legal framework including the signed international conventions, to develop new proposals for the improvement of legislation, to achieve sectoral integration of nature conservation considerations and to develop reports for national and international decision makers.
Objectives
- to monitor the implementation of obligations deriving from different international commitments;
- to compile a web based database about the status of implementation of different biodiversity related international commitments;
- to lobby for the improvement of national legislation, specially emphasizing on laws with relevance for biodiversity and species protection;
- to inform the relevant authorities if violation of relevant legislation occurs
Activities
- lobbying for the improvement of the implementation of the Washington Convention (CITES);
- preparation of the “Safeguarding biodiversity in National Development Plans” for the Kyiv Ministerial Conference, published by CEEWEB;
- preparation of the “Implementation of PEBLDS in Romania ” report for the Kyiv Ministerial Conference, published by CEEWEB;preparation of the “Implementation of biodiversity related international commitments by Romania ” report for the Kyiv Ministerial Conference, published by CEEWEB
