“Mystery Bird” – Rules
The “Mystery Bird” competition will consist of six consecutive rounds, one in a month. The deadline for entries will be given with the picture posting
The answer must contain obligatory the scientific name of the species exactly as it appears in the official nomenclature. Answers submitted by any other means will not be considered. In case of the recently changed taxonomical classifications, the old and the new genus names alike will be accepted! (Ex.: Thalassarche or Diomedea, Aquila or Hieraaetus, Chroicocephalus or Larus, Vanellus or Chettusia, Poecile or Parus, etc.)
All birds must be identified on the species level. All species in the photographs have been recorded in the Western Palearctic. A list of species recorded in this geographical region can be found under the following link: http://www.netfugl.dk/wplist.php
For each round only one submission per person will be accepted (which will be the first received). Multiple submissions will not be considered
The solution and a new bird photo will be posted each month. Simultaneously we will post the names of all participants who submit the correct answer by the deadline, posted with each month’s bird photo quiz.
Photographers whose picture will be used in the competition are excluded from entry in the round(s) in which their work is used. Taking part in competition of the Milvus Group’s staff/team is not allowed too.
The participants with the most correct answers out of the six quizzes will be awarded.
The answers must be sent on the following address: mystery(at)milvus.ro
