[singlepic id=1043 w=320 h=240 float=left]On the 20th of August 2012 near Vlčnov, in the Czech Republic a Red-footed Falcon (Falco vespertinus) with Romanian rings was caught in the mistnet of ornithologist Petr Pavelčík. After the bird was controlled by the ringer, it was released and our association was informed. From the data we found out that it was ringed on the 11th of July 2012 by Daróczi J. Szilárd and Hegyeli Zsolt at a Red-footed Falcon colony near Sânmartin (Arad county). [singlepic id=1044 w=320 h=240 float=right]When the immature, second year male bird was ringed, beside the metal ring another two rings were added on his legs. A red plastic above the aluminium ring which is the code of the country, and a yellow ring with NT0 code written with black on the other leg. The bird flew 405 km from the ringing place to the recovery place in NW direction and the elapsed time between the ringing and the recovery was one month and 9 days. An interesting fact could be that this is the first Red-footed Falcon found in the Czech Republic which was ringed outside the borders of the country.
