“Uzonka” the white stork hatched in 2004 in the village Ozun. Since than she lives in summer, as in winter in Mr. Kányadi Ferenc’s backyard and in the neighbourhood of the village. At the beginning of April the stork missed from Mr. Kányadi’s place for two days. Mr. Kányadi thought that the bird found his pair and began to breed. Unfortunately the cause of the storks missing was something else, Uzonka’s bill was broken. The Milvus Groups members decided to take immediate measures to punish the responsible for this cruelty. On 13th of April they placed posters to raise the public interest regarding to this inhuman act. The person who will help us to identify the delinquent will receive 1000RON (300EURO) reward.
In middle of April 2006 we received from Tirgu Mures’s citizens three species of owl. The freshly fledged chicks of Long-eared Owl (Asio otus) and Tawny Owl (Strix aluco) were found by local people in two different parks of the city. The owls were fed in captivity for a few days and soon they will be ready for adoption by families from the same species. The third species is an injured Ural Owl (Strix uralensis).
